I used to practise shuffling in secret. Yes, the thought of shuffling in front of people who were quicker, smoother and just generally better at it than me was enough to induce a cold sweat. There is also nothing more likely to ruin your game than grumps about your shuffling. It looks cheap and naff, but this battery-operated card-shuffler really does put a kitsch Vegas spin on even the dullest game of sevens, doing the job quickly and efficiently. Verdict: Like cards?
